Snow Flurries Inspire Mittens

We have had snow drifting down on us the last 2 days making
warm hands important, so a pair of mittens seems appropriate.

Here is my 1-hour start on a nice pair with cat applique:

These were cut using the waist seam on the sweater to be the cuff of the mitten.
That will give them a very nice finished edge.

Here are the pieces for the applique pinned to the back side of the left mitten. 

Simple running stitch completed on tail, body, and head with orange embroidery thread.
More to be done on this tomorrow!
